At White Chiropractic, we take great pride in providing the finest chiropractic wellness care to our patients. Below is a sampling of the different chiropractic services we offer in both our Burnsville and Prior Lake offices.

Chiropractic Care

We provide advanced spinal correction utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before.  Our adjustments are gentle and very specific, only moving the vertebrae which are misaligned and using only as much force as needed to give the correction. Our doctors have experience with many adjusting techniques and will use the one best suited to each individual based on their age, condition, body type and sensitivity level. For example, an instrument called an activator may be used as a low-force method of adjusting on some patients.

Because vertebrae are held in position by strong ligaments and many layers of muscles, adjustments are most effectively done by relaxing the spinal musculature prior to the adjustment. Relaxed muscles allow vertebrae to move more easily, and spinal corrections will be effective for a longer period of time. Focal areas of tightness in the muscles called "trigger points" can be the direct cause of pain in some patients. To relax muscles, address trigger points and promote faster healing, our doctors often use soft tissue therapy as part of your treatment.

  Acupuncture

An ancient therapy known to relieve pain as well as restore health and vitality:

Tradition holds that some 5,000 years ago, the Chinese discovered that stimulation of various body points led to recovery from disease and injury.  Today, acupuncture is officially recognized by the World Health Organization as a treatment for more than 200 clinical disorders.  As is the case with chiropractic care and nutrition, acupuncture is a holistic means of health care, addressing your body as a whole versus just treating symptoms.  Rather than prescribing a drug, an acupuncturist learns why your body isn't functioning opitmally and treats the condition accordingly.

The underlying principle is one of energy flow:

A natural flow of energy called Qi, or "chee" in Chinese, travels through the body along pathways called meridians.  There are 12 meridians along each side of your body, each associated with an organ or bodily function.  Dozens of acupuncture points lie along these meridians.  When your Qi is out of balance, deficient or blocked, you can experience pain or disease.  Your acupuncturist reads your pulse, examines your tongue and inquires about signs and symptoms to determine the status of your Qi.  This tells which points along the meridians need to be stimulated or sedated.

Here are some conditions commonly treated with acupuncture:

  • Musculoskeletal Aches and Pains
  • Headaches
  • Sinus Congestion
  • Anxiety/Stress
  • Depression
  • Infertility
  • PMS
  • Nausea
  • Constipation/Diarrhea
  • Sleep Issues/Insomnia
  • Weight loss/Appetite Control
  • Smoking Cessation

Corrective Exercises

We teach our patients special "blueprint" exercises designed just for them to help strengthen and correct their own unique problem. These exercises can be performed in the comfort of your own home and can improve the effectiveness of your spinal correction by as much as 30-40%. In addition to skeletal misalignment, muscles and connective tissues can be out of place or strained by improper alignment and use. Specific exercises and stretches can help your body stay in balance and in health.

Lifestyle Advice

We often find it helpful to "coach" our patients on certain activities they should avoid or do differently to avoid aggravating their particular health challenge. Our goal is to help every patient achieve a fulfilling and happy lifestyle full of the activities they enjoy most. We recognize that each our patient is a whole person, and help them reach true health and wellness is a collaborate effort between our professionals and our patients.

Nutritional Counseling

We provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices to enhance our patientīs return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you?  Setting up a special nutritional consult at our clinic can provide a structured nutritional program based on your individual needs.

Posture and spinal screenings can reveal important health information and unlock the door to improved health and well-being. We provide screenings at area community events, health fairs and places of employment. Contact us today to arrange a screening at your event or workplace.
